On December 26, 2025, tracker Ming (@tslaming) posted a Tesla China listing: a Low Voltage Electrical Engineer in Shanghai to work on circuit boards described as the “nervous system” for Tesla’s Robotaxi. The original Tesery headline turned that ad into a “major autonomous push.” It is one urgent hardware seat. It is not a MIIT permit, not a Cybercab factory announcement, and not a date for unsupervised rides in Pudong.

What a low-voltage board job actually means
Low-voltage hardware powers sensors, computers, and body electronics. High-voltage is the drive unit. Hiring an LV EE in Shanghai can mean Tesla wants local board design for a Robotaxi-class vehicle, or that Giga Shanghai’s existing EE team is picking up Robotaxi-adjacent work. It does not tell you volume, a SOP date, or whether the car is a Model Y mule or a wheel-free Cybercab.
Shanghai is Tesla’s China manufacturing and a growing software/validation site. Tesery’s November 2025 Model Y L mix is the volume-car story. Do not glue Y L sales to a Robotaxi PCB job.
