On December 29, 2025 Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he held a conference call from Florida with Elon Musk, Transportation Minister Miri Regev, and National AI Headquarters head Erez Askal. In that call Musk accepted their invitation to take part in a Smart Transportation Conference planned for March 2026. Primary source: the Prime Minister’s Office English readout. Netanyahu also posted on X. That is a calendar commitment (later disrupted). It is not a Tesla factory, not an FSD type-approval, and not a Robotaxi license.

Governments invite Musk to mobility conferences the way they invite other CEOs. Israel’s smart-mobility industry is real; a March keynote does not rewrite UN ECE or Israeli AV rules. If Tesla later files for FSD Supervised in Israel, that will be a separate type-approval story. Tesery’s UAE “hopefully next month” line is the same class of talk: a schedule comment, not a permit.
