A ten-piece dry carbon fiber overlay set for the window lift button panels and door switch buttons on all four doors of the Tesla Model Y L. The factory switches, backlighting, and button travel stay exactly as they are. Only the surface changes.
Replaces the factory piano-black gloss
The window switch panel is the highest-contact surface on an interior door, and it shows every fingerprint and fingernail mark. Woven carbon breaks up that flat gloss black without touching the button layout or the backlight.
Dry carbon, not a printed pattern
Carbon fiber prepreg is molded and cured under heat and pressure, so the weave is part of the structure rather than a film printed on plastic. The twill carries real depth and direction as light moves across it.
Peel, press, done — and reversible
Every cover arrives with 3M double-sided adhesive already applied to the reverse side, plus an adhesion promoter wipe. No door panel removal, no drilling, and the original trim stays complete underneath if you ever want it back.

A closer look at the details.
Material Construction
Carbon fiber prepreg — 2x2 twill carbon fabric pre-impregnated with epoxy resin — molded into a thin overlay shell. Because the layers are laid by hand into a closed mold, the twill runs in one consistent direction across every piece in the set.
Manufacturing Process
Prepreg is laid into the mold, then compression molded and cured under heat and pressure. Each piece is trimmed, sanded, and finished with a gloss clear coat before the 3M double-sided adhesive is applied to the reverse side.
Surface Finish
2x2 twill weave under a high-gloss, UV-stabilized clear coat. The gloss deepens the weave pattern and reads closest to the factory piano-black it replaces, which is why it is the finish shown throughout this page.
Flush edge and OEM-fit radius
Each cover is trimmed to a soft, OEM-fit radius where it meets the door panel and the button openings. There is no hard lip for a sleeve, a ring, or a cleaning cloth to catch on, and the cover sits flush with the surrounding trim rather than proud of it.
The reverse side carries die-cut 3M double-sided adhesive, protected by a red release liner until you are ready to press the cover down. The supplied adhesion promoter wipe matters most along the edges and on low-surface-energy areas — that is what keeps the perimeter flat through summer heat cycles.

How do I identify my vehicle version?
Three checks in order. First, confirm the seating layout: the Model Y L is the six-seat, three-row version with two individual second-row seats, so a five-seat Model Y is not the same vehicle and this set will not fit. Second, check the production date on the driver-side B-pillar label or in the vehicle software information screen — this set covers Model Y L from its August 2025 launch. Third, compare the passenger door window switch panel: on the 2020–2024 Model Y that panel is dimensionally different from the newer layout. If you would rather not guess, send a photo of your door switch panel and your vehicle information screen to support@tesery.com before ordering and we will confirm.
Know what to prepare before installation.
Peel-and-press installation, roughly 15 minutes for all four doors.
- Mounting method: pre-applied 3M double-sided adhesive, with adhesion promoter supplied for the panel edges.
- Removal or drilling: none. No door panel removal, no drilling, and no modification to the factory trim.
- Recommended installer: DIY. The only skill involved is lining up the button openings before the tape touches the panel.
- After installation: keep the doors dry for the first 24 hours and avoid frequent window cycles while the adhesive sets. In cold weather, extend this to 72 hours.

Prepare Separately
- Clean microfiber cloth — one for cleaning, one for pressing
- Plastic trim tool and a hair dryer or heat gun, for removal only
- Adhesive remover, for cleaning residual tape if you later take the covers off
- 01Park the vehicle, switch off, and close the windows. Wipe each panel with the promoter wipe and let it flash off completely — dust and hand oil are what cause lifting edges. Then dry-fit every cover with the liner still on, starting at the driver door, and check the button openings and the weave direction against the other doors.
- 02Peel one corner of the red liner and hold that corner while you seat the opposite edge first. Press outward from the middle to push air ahead of the tape, working toward the open corner as you peel. Press firmly for 30 to 60 seconds, concentrating on the edges and the openings around each button.
- 03Check every edge for lift, trapped air, or obstruction of the switch, and confirm the backlight is still fully visible. Test the window travel and the door release, then press the whole set down once more. Keep the doors dry and out of direct sun for 24 hours.

How should I clean and care for this part?
Mild soap and water, applied with a soft microfiber cloth, is all this surface needs. Wipe, then dry immediately rather than letting water sit along the edges. Wax or a ceramic coating every two to three months keeps the clear coat working against UV.
Avoid alcohol, tar remover, solvent-based dressings, abrasive polish, and stiff brushes. Never scrub a dry panel with a dry cloth — that is what leaves fine scratches in a clear coat. Fingerprints show more on the gloss finish than they would on a matte one, and they wipe straight off. Long-term parking in direct sunlight will eventually dull or slightly yellow any carbon fiber clear coat, so a shaded spot or a UV protectant slows that down considerably.
Can the vehicle be returned to its original condition?
Yes. Warm the cover gently with a hair dryer on low, work a plastic trim tool or a length of fishing line under an edge, and lift slowly. Clean any residue with adhesive remover. Because nothing was cut or drilled, the factory panel underneath is untouched.
The adhesive itself is single-use: once removed, a cover needs fresh 3M tape before it can go back on. We do not describe these covers as re-usable without replacement tape.
Will it work with other aftermarket accessories?
These covers are designed to sit flush within the existing door panel, so they do not interfere with window travel, door release, or the child lock, and there is nothing else mounted on that surface to conflict with.
For the closest visual match, pair them with other TESERY dry carbon interior parts in the same finish. Weave direction and gloss level vary between suppliers, so mixing brands side by side in one cabin is the one combination we cannot guarantee.
What if the part does not fit or arrives damaged?
Contact support@tesery.com and include your order number, your vehicle model and production year, photos of the condition issue, and photos of the outer box and shipping label. Please check fitment against the panel before you remove the adhesive liner — once the liner is off, the covers cannot be resold as new, which affects whether a return can be accepted.
