Update, August 19, 2026: Thanksgiving 2025 drone clips were a quiet holiday weekend at the high-volume Semi building next to Giga Nevada. Tesla later talked volume Semi in 2026. Tesery’s later files include a volume-production claim — that is a different date. This note is not SOP.
Over Thanksgiving weekend 2025, drone flyer Zane Hinrichs (@HinrichsZane) recorded Tesla’s dedicated Semi building beside Gigafactory Nevada. Nic Cruz Patane posted a Dec. 1 teaser of the same flight: production equipment staged, site looking closed for the holiday. Open Nic’s X post. Tesla’s own Giga Nevada page already called it the first high-volume Semi factory. A finished-looking roof and a quiet Sunday are not the first customer truck off that line.
Key facts
- What was filmed: The Semi factory adjacent to Giga Nevada, late November 2025, holiday-quiet.
- Who filmed: Hinrichs / Nic’s teaser — drone, not a Tesla press tour.
- What Tesla had already said: Nevada is the Semi volume site; meaningful ramp pointed at 2026 in earlier company comments.
- What this is not: Semi mass production started that weekend, or a Tesla “we’re open” post.
A quiet plant vs a rate
Equipment on the floor can sit for weeks before first article. Tesery’s August 2025 press-delivery notes and the Nov. 8 interior peek are earlier construction chapters. Treat Thanksgiving as “looks buttoned up,” not “rate is live.”
FAQ
Did Tesla confirm first Semi off this line at Thanksgiving?
No. The news is drone video of a quiet, more-complete building.
Is this the same as Giga Nevada battery halls?
No. Semi is the adjacent high-volume truck building Tesla describes on the Nevada careers/factory page.
Were workers on site?
The holiday clips were used to argue the site had the weekend off. That is an inference from empty lots, not a Tesla memo.
For fleet buyers: a drone still is not your VIN or your Megacharger appointment.
