Update, August 19, 2026: These December 2025 events were passenger ride-alongs. Owner FSD (Supervised) as a sold EU feature came later and country-by-country. The first type-approval Tesery logged is the April 2026 Dutch RDW decision, then notes such as Lithuania and Estonia. A showroom ride is not that homologation.
On December 9, 2025 Tesla Europe posted that FSD (Supervised) ride-alongs were “now available in Denmark & Switzerland.” Quote: “Come experience FSD Supervised on your local roads! Ride along in the passenger seat…” Open the original X post. Tesla’s own ride-along event pages list the same product: a Tesla employee drives; you sit in the passenger seat. Italy, France, and Germany already had the same format from late November. This is a demo program. It is not FSD sold on European owner cars that week.

Key facts
- What expanded Dec. 9: Bookable Supervised FSD passenger rides in Denmark and Switzerland.
- What already existed: The same ride-along format in Italy, France, Germany; Tesla Europe’s Netherlands “Future Holidays” campaign; Tesery’s three-month extension note.
- What Tesla still needed: National/EU approval to put Supervised FSD on customer cars. Musk had called EU rules painful; RDW was the file Tesla kept pointing at.
- What this is not: Unsupervised Robotaxi in Copenhagen, or FSD as a software SKU on Danish VINs that week.
Ride-along vs owner software
A ride-along is Tesla’s car, Tesla’s driver, Tesla’s insurance, on a booked route. Owner FSD is a paid option that still needs a homologated build. Giga Berlin’s private-road miles (Tesery: 93,000 FSD miles at Giga Berlin) are a third thing: factory roads, not Danish public-road owner software.
FAQ
Could I turn on FSD in my European Model Y on Dec. 9, 2025?
Not from this announcement. You could book a passenger ride if Tesla had slots.
Is a ride-along unsupervised?
No. Tesla labeled it FSD (Supervised), and a Tesla person is in the car.
Did Denmark approve FSD that day?
Tesla opened a demo. Type-approval is a different letter.
For European owners: a passenger demo does not change your Autopilot stack. Watch the actual country approval, not the event calendar.
