Tesla’s current robotaxi page still tells people to download the app and check a map — if your city is dark, you wait. An icon in Tokyo is not a Tokyo geo-fence.
On December 7, 2025 Sawyer Merritt posted that the Tesla Robotaxi iOS app was downloadable for all users in Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, South Korea, Australia, Taiwan, Macau, New Zealand, Mexico, the U.S., and Canada. Open the original X post. EVXL repeated the same store list. Rides that week were still the small U.S. service — Austin and the Bay Area — not those extra App Store countries. A waitlist button is not a driverless taxi outside your hotel.

Tesla put the U.S. iOS app on the public store in September 2025. December’s news is more flags in the App Store picker. Goldman’s same-month note — Tesery’s scale-speed piece — is still the right test: cars and unsupervised miles, not download counts.

If I download the app in Australia, can I ride?
Only if Tesla has opened a geo-fence there. In December 2025 it had not.

Does a global app mean Cybercab is in those countries?
No. The 2025 paid cars were Model Y Robotaxis in a few U.S. metros.
For owners: the Robotaxi app is a separate login from the Tesla owner app. Downloading it does not put your car in the fleet.
