On November 30, 2025 Elon Musk replied to his own Optimus thread: “Since we are naming the singular, we will also name the plural, so Optimi it is.” Open the original X post. That is a naming joke. It is not a spec sheet, not a production rate, and not proof the robots are unsupervised factory labor. Same weekend Yilun Chen posted he had joined the Optimus AI team (Tesery: Chen’s hire note).
