Tesla Unveils World's First V4 Supercharger with Contactless Payment in UK

Tesla continues to push the boundaries of electric vehicle (EV) charging technology with the recent inauguration of the world's inaugural V4 Supercharger stall featuring contactless payment. The pioneering event took place at the Tesla Centre in Tottenham, marking a significant advancement in EV charging convenience.

The unveiling of the V4 Supercharger was accompanied by a ceremonial ribbon-cutting graced by Transport Minister Jessee Norman, as reported by DrivingElectric.

This cutting-edge V4 Supercharger, which made its European debut in March in Harderwijk, the Netherlands, introduces notable enhancements in appearance, cable length, and maximum charging speed. Notably, this new design boasts a remarkable maximum charging speed of 350 kW. But Tesla's innovation doesn't stop here—industry enthusiasts anticipate even swifter speeds once the company incorporates 800-volt architectures across its vehicle lineup.

Departing from the traditional method where Tesla Superchargers communicated directly with the vehicle's default payment method, this revolutionary stall introduces a fresh approach.
