In late February 2026, Abu Dhabi Mobility said it was overseeing Tesla’s first Advanced Self-Driving (Supervised) road trials in Abu Dhabi — still under a driver. Tesery’s later note: FSD Supervised trials in Abu Dhabi. A reply on X is a hope. A mobility-authority trial is a test. Neither is unsupervised Robotaxi.
On December 22, 2025, UAE-based analyst Ahmed Sharif Al Amiri asked Elon Musk when FSD would be available in the UAE. Musk replied: “Hopefully, next month.” That is the post. “Next month” from December 22 is January 2026. He did not name a regulator, a software build, or a price.
Tesla markets the feature as Full Self-Driving (Supervised). If it had opened in the UAE that January, a driver would still have been responsible. The original Tesery SERP called this a “confirmed” January 2026 launch. Musk said hopefully. Those are not the same.

Hope vs a market launch
Musk had been in the UAE that weekend and posted “UAE rocks!” That is travel color. It is not a type-approval filing. Countries that already had FSD (Supervised) for owners in late 2025 were a short list (U.S., Canada, and a few others Tesla named over time). The UAE was not on that live Tesla FSD page in December because of this one reply.
When Abu Dhabi Mobility later described “first Advanced Self-Driving (Supervised) road trials,” the words to keep are trials and supervised. Tesery’s Bitburg-Prüm shuttle is another Supervised pilot, not a template that the UAE copied. Estonia’s later owner approval is a third legal path: Estonia FSD Supervised.

Did FSD go on sale for UAE owners in January 2026?
Musk hoped it would. Tesery’s later Abu Dhabi piece is about supervised road trials in February, not a January shop toggle.
If it launches, is it unsupervised?
No. Tesla’s product name is Supervised. The driver stays responsible unless a later UAE rule says otherwise — and this December reply did not say that.
