Tesla-Powered DASH Service Transforms Downtown Tampa Transit Experience

In a groundbreaking move, Tesla's Model Y has become the face of the new DASH ride service, revolutionizing transit in Downtown Tampa. This eco-friendly service, initiated on October 12, has swiftly become the talk of the town, offering customers an affordable and convenient way to navigate the bustling city center.

Operated by the Tampa Downtown Partnership, DASH's Tesla-powered rides have officially hit the streets, providing an efficient solution to the evolving transportation needs of Downtown's seven neighborhoods. Shaun Drinkard, Interim President of the Tampa Downtown Partnership, expressed his excitement, stating, “As we continue to grow and all the seven neighborhoods of Downtown evolve, we need other ways to move within the core of Downtown—and this is a really exciting way to make that happen.”

Starting at a mere $2 per person, customers can now enjoy the luxury of traveling in Tesla SUVs, making commuting both economical and stylish. Initially available from noon until 11:00 p.m. on October 12, DASH Tesla rides will soon be accessible during regular, full-time hours, from Monday to Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., and Sunday, 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

What sets DASH apart is its extensive reach. Tesla Model Ys can ferry passengers to 20 different hub locations within Downtown Tampa. Booking a ride is a breeze with the “DASH Tampa” app, allowing customers to conveniently secure a spot in these bright-yellow Tesla Model Ys. Each trip between hubs accommodates up to four passengers, ensuring a shared, enjoyable experience for everyone on board.

Crucially, safety and professionalism are at the core of DASH’s service. Every DASH Tesla ride is managed by a skilled driver-ambassador, ensuring a secure journey for all passengers. The service is also in the process of recruiting more driver-ambassadors to expand its offerings, making this exceptional transit option available to an even wider audience.
