Tesla Model 3 Project Highland Edition: A Sneak Peek at Upgraded Front Bumper and Advanced Features

by Lucky LI on Aug 01, 2023

A recent sighting of the Tesla Model 3 Project Highland edition has sparked excitement among Tesla enthusiasts, as it offers a glimpse of potential upgrades for the sedan's front bumper.

Tech content creator Colin W. From the Bay Area had a thrilling encounter when he spotted the Tesla Model 3 Highland edition cruising through Palo Alto, California. Eager to share his discovery, Colin posted pictures of the upgraded Model 3 on his X account @Y2KColin and asked his followers to spot any discernible changes.

The majority of the pictures featured the Model 3 with the front and back bumper discreetly covered, hinting at Tesla's modifications or enhancements to the Highland edition while maintaining most of the all-electric sedan's original body.

Of particular interest was the front bumper of the Model 3. Observers noted that the Tesla Model 3 Highland edition appears to have a slightly longer nose or front bumper compared to the current version available on the market. Adding to the intrigue, a camera was spotted at the tip of the Model 3's nose, reminiscent of the Cybertruck's design. This new camera placement suggests that the Model 3 Highland is fully equipped with Tesla Vision, indicating the removal of ultrasonic sensors. Moreover, it is expected that the new Model 3 will be powered by Tesla's advanced Hardware 4.0.

Earlier this month, the Tesla Model 3 Project Highland unit was observed during winter testing in New Zealand. The electric sedan underwent evaluation alongside the rest of Tesla's S3XY lineup at the Southern Hemisphere Proving Ground (SHPG) in New Zealand.
