Tesla pushed Full Self-Driving (Supervised) v14.2.2.1 to some cars on December 23, 2025, as vehicle software 2025.45.6. Tracker Ming (@tslaming) logged that build one calendar day after v14.2.2 (2025.45.5, December 22). The original Tesery headline called it a Christmas gift. The software date is December 23 — Christmas week, not December 25.
That is a fast point release. It is not proof that Tesla “solved autonomy” over the holiday, and it is not a public-road Robotaxi license. Testers described polish on rain, parking, and steering feel. Tesla’s own product name still says the driver stays responsible. What testers said about rain and parking
Zack posted a long first-drive note on December 24 after several night runs in rain. He reported no steering hesitation or stutter, confident lane changes on wet pavement, and parking that usually finished in one take — including a tight spot that needed a sharp turn. He also said FSD still “saw” faded L.A. lane lines when standing water hid them from a human eye. That is one tester’s night, not a Tesla safety study.

Zack also logged limits. One park left extra room because a neighbor sat on the line. He saw one slow creep on a dark, wet unprotected left. He could not fairly compare rain-night v14.2.2.1 with the prior day’s clear-weather v14.2.2. Those caveats belong next to the praise. “Confidence inspiring” is a feeling, not a crash-rate delta.
What v14.2.2 already added
Ming and other owners treated v14.2.2.1 as a polish pass on v14.2.2, not a new feature dump. The v14.2 cycle is where Tesla added owner-facing Arrival Options — parking lot, street, driveway, parking garage, or curbside — and started moving the navigation pin to match the chosen drop-off. That is useful for a future ride-hail product. It is still a supervised feature on a car with a driver in the seat.
The same v14 series later grew Summon, nag changes, and a passenger-facing UI. Tesery’s later v14.3.4 note is the place for that stack. Do not read a December 2025 point release as if those later builds already existed.
Supervised FSD is not a Robotaxi license
Zack compared the steering feel to Tesla’s Austin Robotaxi rides. That is an analogy from someone who has sat in both. It does not mean consumer v14.2.2.1 is the driverless stack, and it does not change the law. Tesla still markets FSD as Supervised. Public-road approval is country-by-country.
